One of the standout features of our player is its ability to play any file format, including m3u and m3u8 formats.

When it comes to defining the supported formats, it's important to consider that "media formats" are defined at multiple levels. These levels include:

• The format of individual media samples, such as video frames or audio frames. These are referred to as sample formats. It's worth noting that a typical video file contains media in at least two sample formats – one for video (e.g., H.264) and another for audio (e.g., AAC).
• The format of the container that holds the media samples and associated metadata. These are known as container formats. Most media files have a single container format (e.g., MP4), which is typically indicated by the file extension. However, for some audio-only formats (e.g., MP3), the sample and container formats may be the same.
• Adaptive streaming technologies like DASH, SmoothStreaming, and HLS. While these are not media formats per se, it's important to specify the level of support offered by Flix Player.

DASH SUPPORT:

Flix Player supports DASH with multiple container formats. Media streams must be displayed separately, meaning that video, audio, and text need to be defined in different AdaptationSet elements in the DASH manifest. The sample audio and video content formats must also be compatible.

SmoothStreaming Support:

Flix Player supports SmoothStreaming with the FMP4 container format. Media streams must be displayed separately, and video, audio, and text need to be defined in different StreamIndex elements in the SmoothStreaming manifest. The sample audio and video content formats must also be compatible.
